I'm obsessed. I never ever ever ever become attached to shows or watch them religiously, but Skins is so good. I know, I'm a little late to jump on the bandwagon, but better late than never. It's just so enthralling! (To the point where I wouldn't be able to tear my eyes away from the screen if the house was on fire).

Warped
Salvador Dali's Dream of Venus is a masterpiece. Maybe I'm running behind, but I didn't even know about Dali's incredibly bizzare, orthodox nightmare until today! How did I miss this? It's incredible. Chambers full of outlandish creations, of mermaids and taxis, water and roses, and of course the goddess Venus.

Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air
Topanga Days 2010 was this last Memorial Weekend and it was amazing. Nothing like spending a few days with the people you care about most in a place where everything is brighter.

Turn on, tune in, drop out
I was scouring the book shelves in one of my favorite out-of-the-way book stores the other day when I stumbled into the hallucinogenic drug section. I was skimming through a few books when I noticed one in particular. The cover was colorful and psychedelic with a crazed looking old man smiling at nothing in particular. I was of course very curious about this book and who this elated man was and when I recognized the man to be none other than Timothy Leary, the psychedelic drug advocate and cultural icon of the 1960s, I knew I just had to read it.
Leary On Drugs makes me think, a lot. I know how terribly cliche it is to be introspective and question existence after reading something about mind altering drugs, but this book really is changing my perception on a lot of things.
Soon we will be reunited
Long over due from my girl Madi's birthday (with my hair straight). "Wild night" galavanting off to Yogurtland at the odd hours of the night...
This past week has been good and bad to extreme levels. Not sure what's going to happen next, but I'm ready.

Hot child in the city
Running wild and looking pretty.
Trying so hard right now to get everything back on track with my health, school and everything else in my life. How have I become so distracted?

Modern Love
Never actually seen The Dreamers, but I love this picture. It's a perfect example of modern love and how romance has changed. Is it more meaningful now or then? What was once "I'll love you forever and ever" has turned into "I'll love you for a little while, but no promises". Often times the latter is more honest...

Spectators are quiet vampires
I was talking to my friend today who is as equally obsessed with Jim Morrison and the Doors if not more than I am and we began to discuss the raw power that he presented on stage. We both came to the conclusion that the thing that made Morrison's music so stirring on stage was his ability to enjoy the experience just as much as anyone in the audience did. Most artists today sing or perform on stage with the clear knowledge that they are being watched for others entertainment. Jim Morrison's experience on stage was unpolished, drug induced and chaotic, but that's the beauty of it. He knew about a much about what he was going to do on stage as anyone else did.
